Pantone Inspiration

Pantone recently announced that 15-5519 Turquoise would be the color of the year for 2010. I personally LOVE turquoise right now!

Check out Pantone's MyColorMyIdea for more celebs and their favorite pantone colors. Here are some of my faves:

Kelly Wearstler loves this hydrangea inspired periwinkle color.

Tim Gunn loves this calming tan color inspired by architecture in Bath, England.

Costume designer (for Sex and the City movie!) Patricia Field favors this bright leafy green color which she finds to be calming.

John Barman, interior designer, calls this pinky-red his neutral.

Collierd Strong (of Project Runway fame) favors turquoise, the color of the inspiring Agean Sea.

OH Domino

I do miss Domino Magazine. I remember buying the first copy with Ruthie Sommers on it when I was a brand new design student. I remember seeing that magazine at B&N and thinking, hmm this looks like a really cool magazine- not too decoratory, not too architectural, and enough story in each article to keep it interesting. And boy, was I right! I bought every single copy of Domino until they folded in 2008 (thanks alot, economy). I LOVE this sofa.

I recently learned that this Lee Jofa upholstery fabric is newly available again (via)! Maybe I need a vintage craigslist sofa to upholster in this gorgeous fabric, complete with a tangerine colored throw pillow as an homage to Domino. Yes, I think I do. Look for a mood board inspired by this photo... coming soon.

Industrial Chic

Concrete stairs, aged metal railings, rough wooden floors paired with lots of glazing and white cabinetry equals the PERFECT canvas for worn vintage furnishings. I absolutely love this look.

Stripes on the Floor

This is one of my favorite images right now. The colors are neutral, the materials are masculine, and the bold stripe pattern is the focal point. I love it. I think I'm gravitating towards stripes, zigzags, and chevron patterns as floor coverings:
