Walk-in Closet

Check out this beautiful before and after closet remodel from Husligheter at DesignSponge!

I love the gallery style, with a wall of open shelving for shoes, and then built ins on the other side to hide hanging clothes and drawers. The only thing missing is a huge full-length mirror for catwalk practice, right?

I will always love that greenish-yellow color and that fun retro Kelly Wearstler wallpaper pattern. And what a cute idea to store jewelry and other trinkets in little glass candy dishes!

The built ins also house a vanity with Hollywood lighting! How fun! The natural window lighting is probably amazing as well. How many closets have you seen with windows????

I bet you could find everything you need for a closet redo like this from Ikea. Add a vanity area with lighting, and you're set. Love it!

Oh, it's vintage

This week, I moved my grandparents out of their home of 26 years and into an awesome assisted living home near my parents. Really, this new place is cool- they answer the phone with "cruiseship on land."

During the move, grandma told me to take whatever I wanted from the old house and boy did I find some gems!

Vintage suede and leather boots (with fur lining) in my size! who knew my huge foot genes came from grandma! ;)

Smith Corona typewriter. I think it's from the '60's... not a Valentine or anything, but still pretty neat.

Mink stole- don't get upset people, it's vintage, before PETA was even around. No red paint please.
My grandma is so cute. When talking about the mink stole, she said, "well, I used to be kind of stylish." KIND OF???! I'd say, VERY stylish. ;)

Paint App? Yes, please.

Apartment Therapy has reported that Benjamin Moore is going to be releasing a new iPhone paint matching app. I am drooling. Basically, you snap a photo of a color you find anywhere (a beautiful green building, for example) and the app matches the color to a Benjamin Moore paint color!

Available June 1.

I am so getting it.

Lovely Things

Hello. Just wanted to stop by (while I have internet) and leave notes about things I'm liking right now:

Our new Portland friend, Janelle, introduced me to her Penguin. Yes, this penguin machine turns flat tap water into sparkling Perrier-esque water! How delightful! Add a little lime or mint? Perfection.

Tasty interior photos from Apartment Therapy's 2009 Small Cool Contest Winners. See photos here.

Everyone in Portland has raised beds. I'm in love. We also saw these at TONS of vineyards in Napa. People grow herbs and fruits and veggies. What a darling way to have a little garden! I could totally manage a garden this size, even in an urban setting. You can buy a kit to build your own, here.

Dwell Studio bedding. I know I'm late to jump on this wagon, but I didn't see what all the fuss was about until I saw a bed made up with this bedding in a charming shop in Portland on Trendy Third called Manor.

Gorgeous San Diego Home

Do you love this Apartment Therapy post about a STUNNING house near San Diego!?

This is my favorite photo of the entire house! The wood grain ad white plastic make my heart flutter. So clean, yet warm!

The living room is amazing. The warmth of the wood mixed, indirect lighting, and mid century modern furniture create an incredibly laid back and pulled together room.

This is the back courtyard area. LOVE the stretched canopy over head.
